Arc of Hope, Uganda has been established to assist the ministries of Fr. Simon Peter Kyambadde. Our belief is that "You CAN Make a Difference."
St. Joan of Arc Day & Boarding School was opened in February 2007. In 2010 the school boasts of an enrollment of over 450 students, almost half of them boarding students. The school begins with Nursery, Preschool and Kindergarten and this year our first level 7 students will graduate in December 2010 after taking their final exams.
Many in the surrounding area of Mauuki, Uganda have heard of the school. In fact, Cambridge College near Kampala, the capital city, has offered SJA's highest achieving graduate a four year scholarship.
A well was dug in 2009 and the Hall was completed in Spring 2010. This summer the school installed a satelite dish TV and students can now view television programs on science, sports and social studies. The highlight of their summer was watching the World Cup Soccer Games held in South Africa.
As the school grows, Arc of Hope plans to build a new nursery school building, secure the school grounds with chain link fencing and install a reservoir water tank and run water to each of the school buildings.
One item on the dream list is a school bus that could transport the students to sports games with other schools, to the city to see sites and to other schools for academic competitions.
