Once known as “Last Rites” or “Extreme Unction,” Anointing of the Sick is not the sacrament reserved only for those who are at the point of death, but rather a sacrament for those of the faithful who are in their old age, suffer serious illness, suffer a prolonged or chronic illness, or are in danger of death.
