VIRTUS – Protecting God’s Children
The Safe Environment Office of the Archdiocese of Chicago provides resources to educate clergy, employees and volunteers on how to prevent sexual abuse, recognize grooming behaviors and create safe environments for children and young people in our parishes, schools and community. In addition, the Safe Environment Office is responsible for tracking the screening of clergy, employees and volunteers.
The following components must be completed for all adult volunteers (18+) who come into contact with children in the parish environment. Please submit all forms and a copy of your VIRTUS and MRT certificates to the Parish Rectory or Religious Ed Office to the attention of

Archdiocesan Code of Conduct | Read and then print the appropriate signature page and submit to the parish contact. Must be completed and submitted at the start of service, and then annually. |

All employees and volunteers who come into contact with children are mandated to attend a VIRTUS session within 60 days of beginning service. Submit a copy of your certificate to the parish contact
