Families wishing to enroll at St. Joan of Arc are invited to visit our school and meet with the school principal. This is a great time to see our facilities, learn more about our community, and discover the opportunities for each child to learn and thrive at SJA. Beginning at the third grade age level, we strongly encourage potential students to “shadow” for a day.
A child entering the Preschool program must be three years old on or before September 1. A child entering Kindergarten must be five years old on or before September 1.
New registrations are taken in the school office. A tuition agreement form, birth certificate, and completed registration form are needed to complete the registration process. Students transferring from another school must submit a transcript of their grades as well as any testing information available. There is a non-refundable registration fee of $100. This is applied to the book fee.
Registrations are categorized into three priority groups: In-School Families, Parishioners and Families who have attended St. Joan’s in the past, and Non-Parish New Families. Families in the first two groups receive priority during registration. By registering at St. Joan of Arc School, students and parents/guardians understand and agree to adhere to the educational objectives and practices and rules and procedures of St. Joan of Arc School.
Physical Examination and Immunization Requirements
The Illinois School Code, Section 27-8, requires a physical examination for all pupils entering school for the first time (preschool), all Kindergarten students, all students entering the Sixth Grade, pupils transferring into the school without the required physical examination, or pupils transferring into Illinois from another state. These students must present proof of current immunizations required by the state. Physical and immunization forms should be returned on the first day of school. By new state mandate, a vision exam is also required for children entering school. This may be done by a pediatrician who will complete the required forms. By state law, if a child is not in compliance by October 15, the child must be and will be excluded from school until these requirements are met. To participate in extracurricular athletic activities, St. Joan of Arc requires a doctor’s signature signifying approval for competition for the current year.
St. Joan of Arc school uniforms are available from the DENNIS UNIFORM COMPANY.
