The St. Vincent De Paul Society is the oldest charity in Chicago. The Society’s primary purpose is to serve those in need. The website for the Society in Chicago is: www.svdpchicago.org.
SVDP Conference centered at St. Joan of Arc serves needy families and individuals in Skokie with short-term material assistance, such as help with rent, utilities, groceries, clothing and furniture. Our conference works closely with other local organizations to provide temporary support for those living on the edge of poverty and those who are experiencing a sudden, temporary financial set-back. SVDP funds come from special collections at the three Catholic churches in Skokie and from individual donations to the contribution box in the back of the church. Donations can also be made online by clicking Give Central.
If you want to donate clothing items, there is an SVDP collection box at the south end of the St. Joan of Arc parking lot. If you want to support the work of SVDP or become a volunteer, contact the Parish Office 847. 328.1430 or Jim Ford (847.676.1799 or [email protected]) for more information.
